Further info:

We currently have a permanent full-time vacancy and a temporary part-time vacancy within Revenue Services for Customer Service Assistants who will provide sound advice to customers who visit the Customer Service Centres at Lancaster and Morecambe Town Halls to enquire about Housing Benefits/Council Tax Benefits, Council Tax and Business Rates.

We are therefore seeking two enthusiastic motivated individuals, who have a positive "can do" approach, who respond well to working in a pressurised environment and who can demonstrate a real commitment to providing excellent Customer Care and top quality service.

In addition to reception duties, you will assist with the development of the Service's Customer Care and Customer Excellence initiatives with particular emphasis on the take-up of benefit entitlement and provide administrative support to other areas of the Service as necessary.

The successful candidates will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills with an understanding of customers' individual needs and possess at least 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above, including English and Maths, or have an equivalent qualification. If you do not hold formal qualifications at this level but feel that you are able to demonstrate that your knowledge, previous experience and skills are of an equivalent standard, you are invited to apply.

You must have experience of working with the public, be able to work as part of a team and have the ability to meet standards and targets.  A qualification in Customer Care would be an advantage.

The part-time vacancy will be temporary for a period of 12 months and will be subject to review. The hours of work will be 18.5 per week and will cover Wednesday afternoon, and all day Thursday and Friday each week.

Candidates will be required to undertake a written test as part of the selection process.
