Students and HB/CTB

OCS is delighted to offer this course for all HB staff. The course deals with the detailed rules that govern how HB is calculated and paid to students. Fully updated for 2008 / 2009

The programme will include:

Eligibility Who is a student? Which students can claim HB? Other Areas concerning HB – Occupation of the dwelling, partners, student non-deps Students and Council Tax Benefit / 2AR How to assess Student Income for HB Maintenance Grant Special Support Grant Student Loans Grants for Extra Living Costs Other Income & Other Students Health Care Students Access funds Hardship loans Incentive payments – ‘golden hellos’ or ‘training salaries’ Education Maintenance Allowance Treatment of loan income for former students (abandoned or dismissed)
Fee: £175 for non-HBINFO members, £160 for HBINFO members. Book three places, get a fourth place free (free places may be carried forward and used on any subsequent HBINFO training event within three months of the date of the original course. The fee covers refreshments, lunch and all training materials.
