Caseworker (Recovery and Non-Domestic Rates), 12-month Fixed Contract

Maldon District Council

Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Revenues and Benefits Section. As you will be assisting with managing the workflow within the team it is vital that the candidate has extensive knowledge and experience of Recovery or Non-Domestic Rates. The ideal candidate will be a team player and be able to demonstrate that they are able to work in a highly pressured environment often working to strict deadlines. Experience of managing a team is required as the candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day to day management of workflow within the team and dealing with more complex cases.

  • A strong customer focus.
  • A positive “can do” attitude to help us deliver the highest standards of service to our customers.
  • Extensive Recovery or Non-Domestic Rates knowledge on legislation to be able to deal with complex cases.
  • Attention to detail, with good levels of accuracy.
  • Experience of managing a team is essential.
  • Experience of representing the Council at Liability Order Hearings would be an advantage.

About this role

As a Level 3 Caseworker, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring accurate, professional and timely case management service to our customers across a range of service areas and activities
  • Undertaking complex casework that require an understanding of relevant service processes, regulations and legislation
  • Delivering excellent customer service
  • Ensuring strict confidentiality is maintained, and data protection rules are followed
  • Promote and Supporting Customer Self Service
  • Identifying improvements in customer and service provision
  • Providing day to day management of the teams work flow.
  • Provide and assist with training.
