Norwich is a one of the UK’s great cities – a regional cultural and economic powerhouse.  Norwich City Council is an ambitious, forward-looking authority with a clear vision for the future of Norwich and for how it needs to change as an organisation.  As a result of a structural review and a refreshed set of priorities, we are now seeking an exceptional person to complete the council’s Senior Leadership Team to help us shape and deliver a progressive agenda for our city and its people. 

Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate and Commercial Services (S151), we are looking for a dynamic and experienced public sector leader who thrives in a challenging, diverse role where a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation is key to success.  We need a visionary leader, who has proven skills in building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the workforce and knowledgeable in Revenues and Benefits services. 

Based in Norwich, you will work with the senior management team in the administration of Revenues and Benefits Services for Norwich City Council. Working across organisational boundaries as one team to transform how the council works whilst providing better services to our customers and effective support to council employees.

You will be instrumental in driving forward key priorities for the council and providing sound strategic direction regarding the effective management of resources and services. You will have proven experience of managing change and transforming services, focused on developing and improving service delivery, customer journey and programme management.

As a strong and effective communicator, you will be responsible for providing leadership and operational management to the team, ensuring that employees adopt the values and expected behaviours of Norwich City Council and deliver a high-performance culture.   You will need to be flexible and adaptable as you will be required to attend council meetings, which may include evening council meetings on occasion.

Full IRRV professional qualification or equivalent revenues and benefits experience at a senior level is essential.
