About us

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our expanding team. Working within the dynamic and constantly changing area of Revenues.

 

Meritec is a long-established family run company based in the North of England with an unrivalled reputation for high achievement in the field of Revenues and Benefits remote processing. We provide fully managed remote services and work closely with many Local Authorities in the UK using a variety of software systems.

 

We strive to ensure we have a motivated, well informed, and collaborative workforce that aims to exceed the expectations of our customers. Meritec promotes continuous improvement in all aspects of what we do.

 

What we are looking for

  • Ideally but not essential, you will have at least 5 years current/recent Revenues experience with a Local Authority, remote processing service or agency.
  • Experience in Council Tax and/or Recovery and Non-Domestic Rates.
  • Experience of using computerised processing systems such as Capita Academy, Northgate, Civica Open Revenues or similar.
  • Experience of using computerised document management systems such as Anite, Civica W2, Northgate workflow or similar.
  • Experience in dealing with day to day administration, billing, collection and recovery of local taxation and miscellaneous income owed to a Local Authority.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Be able to deliver excellent customer service in a high-pressured environment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills when dealing with inbound and outbound customer enquiries by phone, letter, or email.
  • Be proactive and self-motivated, demonstrating an ability to work independently and make decisions for yourself.
  • Maintain Customer accounts and award discounts and exemptions which carry monetary value.
  • Demonstrate that you have strong communication skills and the ability to show an understanding of working within the constraints of legislation.
  • A good knowledge of general data protection.
  • Be experienced in a performance driven environment as you will be expected to achieve daily targets.
  • Be able to balance quality against quantity, whilst maintaining a low error rate.
  • Ideally live within reasonable travelling distance to either of our offices at Skipton or Warrington, however this is not essential.
