Uttlesford Council

Uttlesford is a thriving, predominantly rural district in north-west Essex encompassing Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow, Stansted Mountfitchet and Thaxted and about 100 villages and hamlets in between. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Council Tax Team which sits within the Revenues Services, responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax, Business Rates, Council Rent, Sundry Debts and Housing Benefit overpayments.

You will be responsible for providing administrative support relating to the Valuation of domestic properties, maintaining property databases for Council Tax purposes and supporting the team during the implementation of new working procedures and practices. This role will also provide clerical support to the Recovery team by updating the Revenues Database on Enforcement Agent returns and raising invoices.

To be successful in this role you must have excellent interpersonal and IT skills. You will also have a confident methodical and organised approach to your workload, be calm under pressure with the ability to work to strict deadlines. Prior experience in working in a Revenues environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
