Systems Control Officer, 2 posts

Bristol City Council

Two Permanent Posts 37 hours per week Monday to Friday

This is an exciting opportunity for two highly motivated persons to join our Systems and Information Team based within the Revenues service of Bristol City Council.

We have invested in new cloud based technologies which support our staff, residents and service users and you will be involved in the rollout of these technologies across the service.

What will I be doing?

You will provide advice and vital system support to our Revenues and Benefits teams for all core systems, ensuring software is fit for purpose and meets the needs of the business. As an integral part of the team you will provide a helpdesk service including answering queries, providing guidance and resolving faults. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving system issues and liaising with suppliers as well as developing processes and workflows.

You will be involved in various projects including annual billing, software upgrades and corporate change projects There is a requirements for some out of hours working to undertake testing, upgrades and annual billing for which overtime may be payable.

Your responsibilities will also include the day to day supervision of the Control Officers within the team. Supervision of their workload, ensuring objectives and priorities are met, delegating tasks and providing advice and support.

Please note that this role is subject to a Basic DBS check.
